Where We're Headed: The 2025 Roadmap for Incention and Emergence

We grew up with fandom in our DNA. Like many of you, the Incention team spent our formative years collecting Pokémon cards, memorizing every line of our favorite movies, and getting lost in the magic of theme parks. Yet for all the time, passion, and money we invested, real fan involvement has often been limited to souvenirs on a shelf or fan fiction lost in the ether. We believe fans deserve more.

Incention’s mission is to unlock real opportunities for fans to contribute to, shape, and benefit from the growth of franchises they love, building a future of fandom that’s truly collaborative and rewarding.

To bring this vision to life, we knew we needed full creative and economic control of a franchise to truly test and refine our ideas. In January 2025, we introduced Emergence, an original sci-fi universe created by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Blade, Foundation). Our goal was straightforward: bring fans closer to the storytelling process through direct interaction with the world itself. At launch, our platform centered around A.T.L.A.S., an AI agent fine-tuned on Emergence canon, immersing fans by simulating direct conversations with Fountainview Station’s central computing unit. Fans could also visually manifest their creativity through a specialized character image generator.

Today, tens of thousands of fans have engaged deeply with Emergence, collaboratively shaping the universe through interactive storytelling. We're excited to take this a step further with our recently released Codex system. Codex allows the AI to dynamically create and index lore, characters, and artifacts directly from fan conversations as they explore the universe, transforming spontaneous interactions into discoverable, user-generated content. Fans can then claim and share their contributions, vote on their favorite entries to, and explore both AI-generated and canonical lore in a growing collective knowledge base. Top entries have potential to become canon material, meaning you can directly help shape the development of Emergence alongside David S. Goyer.

As Codex evolves, it will serve as the foundation for more expansive interactions, including direct user-generated contributions, community-driven governance, canon validation, public APIs for builders, and tokenized rewards for meaningful participation.

For Fans

• Create Directly: Upload art, stories, and lore entries without the agent. Publish instantly.
• Permanent Credit: All entries live on a public ledger. Attribution is transparent and portable.
• Plug Into Anything: Use Codex data in wikis, tabletop modules, podcasts, or fan games.
• Shape the Story: Vote on proposals to decide what becomes "official" canon.

For IP Holders

• Curate the Best: Browse a live feed of submissions. Invite top contributions into official canon.
• Safe to Adapt: Clear licensing trails make it safe to adapt fan ideas into films, comics, or merch.
• Easy, Repeatable Activations: Spin up interactive events or ARGs in days, not months.
• Collaborative Governance: Launch proposals, run polls, and bring the community into the decision-making process.

So, what's next?

We're dedicated to making 2025 the year Emergence becomes the standard for rewarding fan-powered collaborative storytelling. Over the coming months, we'll roll out powerful new features designed to deepen fan engagement, expand creative opportunities, and tangibly reward your contributions.

For creative expansion for the franchise, we’re pursuing partnerships with major production companies in audio and comics to develop new series set in the Emergence universe. These adaptations will be specifically designed to evolve alongside the world our community is building. Characters, locations, and lore created through the Codex and A.T.L.A.S will shape the story that will be distributed to a broader audience.

Additionally, we’re launching the Emergence Open Project later this year to make Emergence accessible to all creators. We're releasing our existing 3D and 2D assets under the Creative Commons 4.0 license on Epic Games' platform, featuring Universal Scene Description (USD) technology that ensures compatibility across a wide range of creative tools. While we believe emerging technologies like AI will eventually transform how fans engage with entertainment franchises, we recognize the current barriers to adoption. By making our assets available through the widely-used Unreal Engine, we invite creators from all communities to explore our world, create with our designs, and potentially profit from their creations. This initiative allows creators to "play with our toys" while helping us understand how to better involve community throughout the franchise's development.

This is what it looks like when storytelling in Emergence becomes a two-way street, with participants able to create, curate, and earn rewards for their contributions through the platform.

Here's why you should get involved now:

Every interaction you have with A.T.L.A.S earns you Research Points, our system designed to measure your creative contributions to Emergence. 

While Research Points are currently just for bragging rights on our leaderboard, with Codex going live we have launched our first official community Mission. Missions are structured campaigns to create Emergence content. Mission 1: The Chirality Conundrum, is dedicated to using A.T.L.A.S to investigate and understand the permanent consequences of chirality. Log your findings in the Codex, climb the leaderboard, and earn rewards.

At the conclusion of this first and each successive Mission, top contributors on the leaderboard will earn exclusive rewards recognizing their creative efforts.

Beyond Emergence, we're expanding our innovative toolkit into partnerships with major studios (more details on this soon!), developing immersive AI powered storytelling experiences and interactive ARGs. Our ambition is to provide a versatile platform empowering both fans and IP holders, enabling an entirely new generation of creative, rewarding experiences. 

This expansion of our roadmap will allow studios to leverage the power of user and AI generated content to ensure their IP can keep pace with tech innovation.
